Exciting Opportunity for a Legal Manager in a Global Business EnvironmentAre you an experienced legal professional ready to take on a pivotal role in a global organization undergoing transformative digital evolution? A leading Japanese automotive manufacturer is seeking a Legal Manager to lead critical initiatives in data privacy and digital innovation. About the RoleAs the Legal Manager of the Digital Team, you will lead your team and handle a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, including: •Advising business functions on matters related to data privacy and digital-related laws and regulations that impact the business.•Advising business functions on commercial matters, including drafting contracts, negotiating with vendors, and providing proactive and strategic legal advice to the business teams.•Managing other legal teams with respect to digital transformation projects, coordinate with regional teams, and ensure alignment by updating templates, playbooks, and policies.•Providing regular training to other legal and business teams on data privacy and other digital-related laws and regulations. Required Qualifications •Over 8 years of experience in a global law firm or a globally-operating enterprise. Experience in data privacy or digital-related fields is not required but welcome. •Proven experience in commercial law, with the ability to lead and manage contracts with service providers and suppliers independent. •Strong communication skills and logical thinking. •TOEIC score of 900 or higher. If you do not have a TOEIC score, you will be required to take a language proficiency test during the selection process. Preferred Qualifications (The candidates who do not meet these qualifications are also welcome to apply)•Qualification to practice law in some jurisdiction (preferably in the United States or a common law jurisdiction). •Knowledge and experience related to GDPR or new technologies such as AI, autonomous driving and data privacy. •Experience in the automotive industry is preferred but not mandatory.
