Responsibilities
-Process customer orders via telephone, email, fax, EDI, and WebOrders; issue credit notes as necessary
-Follow up promptly on customer queries, such as stock checks
-Provide quotes with the assistance of the Branch Manager and Marketing Department
-Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to pricing, service, delivery, and product quality
-Gather and update customer profile information
-Ensure timely delivery to customers, including expediting tight lead-time orders, shipping partial orders, negotiating product substitutions, and managing rush orders
-Expedite orders from Head Office
-Communicate changes in policy, pricing, and products to customers
-Initiate telemarketing calls, email/fax offers and promotions, promote products and services, use upselling techniques, and pass potential new business to outside sales representatives
-Inventory processing: print shipment sheets for the Warehouse Representative to spot-check weekly shipments
-Run the backorder file in SAP after shipments are received and print generated backorders
-Receive Vendor direct shipments in SAP using Goods Receipt PO
-Inform Branch Manager of any significant inventory level changes
-Monitor and communicate sales opportunities to outside sales representatives
-Collaborate with outside sales reps on pricing and material requests
-Perform routine customer maintenance tasks, such as address updates, limited pricing changes, and company name changes
-Attend training courses as required
-Perform all duties of Warehouse Representative when needed
-Maintain a neat, organized, and clean branch
-Adhere to all safety rules and policies
-Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant experience in the industry
-Effective communication skills and professional telephone manner
-Strong knowledge of brass and steel fittings, tubes, hoses, and related products
-Proficiency in operating shop and office machinery
-Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
-Strong organizational and mathematical skills
-Sales and service orientation
-Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines
