Reporting to the Manager, IFS Business Intelligence, this role focuses on fostering a data-driven culture, aligning data priorities with the In-Flight Service (IFS) branch strategies, and enhancing data collection for analytics. Responsibilities include data preprocessing, proposing solutions, guiding report development, maintaining data quality, and automating processes.
This role also involves designing and maintaining tools like Power Apps, identifying automation opportunities, adhering to data governance, and promoting innovation. The role supports decision-making by ensuring accurate data availability and contributes to team skill development.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing technical guidance and hands-on support in creating reports, dashboards, and self-service solutions to various departments, including Onboard Experience, Cabin Services, Catering Operations and IFS Operations Excellence.
- Understand and translate stakeholder requirements into actionable tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Champion data visualization within the IFS branch, applying a critical eye to reports and dashboards.
- Provide value-added analytical support across the branch by conducting various analyses on IFS metrics.
- Assist the Manager, IFS Business Intelligence in ensuring dashboard design is standard, current and applied across all functions.
- Enhance and automate data collection procedures to ensure comprehensive and efficient gathering of all relevant information for developing analytical systems.
- Propose and implement technological solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges.
- Process, clean, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
- Participate and assist the Manager, IFS Business Intelligence in the elaboration of a long-term data platform architecture.
- Work closely with IT data collection teams to provide the necessary data to IFS key stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance on tools for managers and cabin crew, ensuring their maintenance (e.g., Power App solutions).
- Identify, develop and coordinate the deployment of process automation technology solutions for the entire department (such as Power Automate solutions).
- Streamline and centralize the validation process and trend analysis of Onboard Report (OBR) data to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Provide dashboard trends to the Cabin Experience team, Cabin Services, and Catering for follow-up, along with a summary report in the branch QBR
- Promote a data-driven culture in the organization, aligning the data and BI priorities with IFS strategies.
- Adhere to and promote enterprise data governance policies and practices. Keep the stakeholders informed about the data quality evolution over time.
- Automate the detection and identification of business deviations from forecasts.
- Expand knowledge of new/different industry best practices while incorporating innovative thinking in all areas of work.
- Provide support to the Manager, IFS Business Intelligence and Manager, IFS Planning & Performance as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI tools (Power BI).
- Experience with the MS Power Platform (Power BI Services, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Power BI certification is considered a strong asset.
- Strong skills in SQL and data modeling.
- Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, Python, R, M, DAX).
- Experience with cloud databases (e.g., Snowflake) and data transformation tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory).
- Advanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with expertise in mathematics and statistics (e.g., predictive modeling, machine learning).
- Ability to correlate data to business objectives and identify improvement opportunities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Flight Attendant qualification is considered a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel as required.
