I am currently recruiting for a Humanities Teacher to work in an Ofsted-rated 'Good' school.
This specialist school in the Teeside area prides itself on delivering high-quality education to learners with ASD and SEMH needs. By placing learners and staff at the heart of everything they do, they are able to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
The ideal Humanities Teacher will have a genuine interest in the subject and be able to teach learners with ASD and SEMH needs. These learners will be working below expected level due to their cognitive and learning difficulties, making the use of active learning strategies essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Good, sound knowledge of the UK curriculum (especially KS3)
- Proven experience working with SEND learners, particularly those with SEMH needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Adaptable and approachable to meet diverse learning needs.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Emotionally resilient with a positive attitude
