About the role

- Work closely with internal stakeholders, state government, and public transport operators on their Human Factors needs.
- Lead workshops to finalise Human Factors requirements with the state government.
- Collaborate with Human Centred Design (HCD) consultants during user testing to ensure ergonomic principles are integrated into the design and installation of devices.
- Ensure that all public transport ticketing devices, including hardware and software (UI), are designed and installed with safety and ergonomics in mind.
- Evaluate the physical and cognitive capabilities and limitations of users, aiming to minimise strain and maximise comfort.
- Conduct user research and testing for all user-facing elements of the ticketing system, including both hardware and software components.
- Produce reports detailing the findings and recommendations from system and device testing, which should include safety, ergonomic, and UI aspects.
- Develop and maintain an issue log throughout the project lifecycle, documenting any identified issues and their resolutions.
- Directly report to the Customer and Stakeholder Experience Director, ensuring that all human factors considerations are communicated effectively.
Note: This role may require travel occasionally within the state of Victoria.
About you
- 10 years+ experience in Human Factors
- Must hold an undergraduate or post graduate degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors or a related field
- Must hold membership in recognised professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA)
- Previous experience in public transport or ticketing systems is considered a bonus
