Randstad has been engaged to source HSE Advisors on a permanent basis for the 52km track construction package on the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport project. This project will connect the new Western Sydney airport with the surrounding areas. This driverless railway using CBTC technology will have six new stations at St Mary's, Orchard Hills, Luddenham, Airport Business Park, Airport Terminal and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis (Bradfield).
RSA commences construction activities in early February and ideally the successful candidates will be available to start in early March to support an increase in their construction activity. The roles will be based on project site offices along the rail alignment in locations such as Luddenham and Orchard Hills.
Requirements for HSE Advisor Role -
- Experience in a similar role
- Relevant formal qualifications in WHS and/or Quality including risk management
- Previous rail experience preferably rail construction
- Strong initiative, ability to manage multiple work priorities and work to deadlines;
- High level of computer literacy - MS Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Standards Quality systems and other accreditations as required.
- Understanding of integrated safety management systems, risk management, quality management and their application to railway operations.
Responsibilities -
- Assist in preparing safety, quality, and environmental plans, including detailed project reports.
- Ensure consistent application of WHS Standards across the project.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk controls in WHS, quality, and accreditation compliance.
- Provide technical expertise for incident management and investigations.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and non-conformance management.
- Manage document control activities in line with business requirements.
- Collaborate with site personnel and management to meet HSEQ and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in pre-job planning and client meetings as needed.
- Conduct WHS, quality, and accreditation audits, inspections, and reports.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure high standards of risk management and hazard identification.
