Title: HR Advisor
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (1-hour lunch)
Location: Wakefield
Job Purpose:
- Provide professional HR transactional services to operational teams.
- Support HR Business Partner with HR initiatives, recruitment management, TUPE transfers, and employee relations.
- Advise on HR issues (discipline, grievance, performance management, time and attendance, long-term sickness, maternity).
- Maintain HR systems for reporting to senior management.
Key Accountability:
- Address general HR queries.
- Maintain HR trackers for data accuracy.
- Manage payroll information flow for new employees, term changes, and leavers.
- Produce monthly board reports for the region.
- Prepare and issue HR documentation (offers, contracts, terms, benefits, bonuses).
- Manage and coordinate employee absence records; provide monthly stats to HRBP.
- Liaise with Occupational Health for absence management.
- Assist in implementing sickness absence procedures.
- Review and maintain Job Templates with operational teams.
- Capture training needs from PDRs; build the training matrix.
- Manage first-week induction for new starters.
- Build relationships with operational teams; handle HR queries and support people-related matters.
- Support HRBP in HR workshops for managers.
- Ensure accurate HR administration by the HR Assistant.
- Assist with disciplinary and grievance hearings.
- Contribute to HR projects as needed.
- Apply due diligence in departmental practices and procedures.
Person Specification:
- Qualified CIPD member.
- Experience as an HR Advisor.
- HR generalist and change management experience.
- Knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Practical problem-solving skills.
- Experience in data gathering and presentation.
Package:
- Salary: £36,000 - £40,000
