About the Role - House Parent
Join our team who are dedicated to supporting the journey of our taiohi and where they want to be. Our service is a youth well-being home and sits on a 10-acre farm where we have self-sustainable practices, i.e., growing kai, raising livestock etc. Our taiohi are educated and participate in all our basic farm duties, daily programmes and will gain life skills and potential new pathways during their time with us.
We are looking for live-in House Parent/s who will fulfil a vital role of establishing a home of stability, trust, warmth, support and communication with taiohi. You will bring passion and drive to the role working alongside youth mentors to ensure that our taiohi get the appropriate support and care whilst in our service.
Position details:
- Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm. Please note on occasions you may be required to work outside of these hours, depending on the support needs of taiohi
- Salary range is from: $60,000-$70,000 (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
A day in the role:
- Cooking of meals (Lunch and Dinner)
- Menu planning
- Weekly shopping
- Basic cleaning duties
- Maintenance of house and property (Mowing lawns/Gardening)
- Pool maintenance
- Supporting staff on floor when needed
- Supporting farmhand when needed
- Administration (Inventory, basic data entry)
We are seeking House Parents who has:
- Experience or qualification in working with youth
- First Aid Certificate
- Basic farmhand knowledge
- Computer Literacy
- Demonstrate a high level of oral and written skills
- Cooking meals/Menu planning
- Good networking skills
- Residential experience
- Have evidence of being fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19
- Have a full drivers licence
- Have proof of your right to work in New Zealand (One year minimum)
