Responsibilities
Coordinate the local implementation of HSE management systems and effective processes to monitor and measure conformance.
Monitor, review, and analyze applicable regulations and communicate changes in the regulatory environment.
Lead, coordinate, or participate in multidisciplinary project teams.
Conduct job hazard analysis and direct the completion of corrective actions.
Develop site-specific work instructions for daily tasks.
Conduct workplace safety inspections and safety talks.
Act as a site Health and Safety committee member.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, safety, or environmental field or equivalent experience.
Five or more years of HSE work experience, preferably with a marine background.
In-depth understanding of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations.
Familiarity with Maritime Occupational Health and Safety (MOHS) regulations, Canada Labour Code, International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), International Safety Management Code (ISM Code), and best practices guided by marine industry standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Familiarity with risk management.
