Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and direct all core culinary activities across all catering locations, ensuring efficient and high-quality service.
Manage and control catering services according to agreed specifications, ensuring both qualitative and financial targets are met. Ensure that quality is maintained throughout each service.
Oversee procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring that value for money is achieved by robustly managing purchasing processes and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Recruit, induct, and develop talented kitchen staff. Firmly and fairly manage performance issues, while fostering an environment for team growth and skill development.
Identify and act upon opportunities for organic growth within the existing catering operations. Seek out new business opportunities and develop strategies to maximize profitability.
Ensure exceptional management of food hygiene, health, safety, and environmental legislation. Utilize the Sodexo Safety Management System to monitor and manage food safety, allergens, and regulatory compliance.
Drive continuous improvement within the kitchen by implementing innovative practices and meeting the evolving expectations of both the catering management and clients.
Requirements:
- NVQ level 2 Food Production certificate or equivalent
- Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
- Strong level of literacy and numeracy
- Experienced Chef who has operated in a busy, client facing environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective team player
- Flexible, with the ability to work under pressure and across a range of shifts and service times
- Direct management experience of chefs / kitchen brigade
- Clear, strong and effective leadership style
- Strong ability to increase individuals' effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to set and maintain standards
