About the Role:
A reputable maintenance company is seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman to join their team in Sutton. The ideal candidate must have prior experience working in a prison environment, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements associated with this setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and painting.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet the necessary safety and quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance in various facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors as needed.
- Adhere to strict security protocols and procedures within the prison environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Handyman, specifically within a prison or similar high-security setting.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various sites as required.
- A background check will be required due to the sensitive nature of the work environment.
