Key Responsibilities:
- Manage portfolio spend (3-8% of turnover) with a focus on direct procurement.
- Negotiate supplier terms, pricing, and mitigate risks to ensure supply continuity.
- Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost-efficiency, quality, and delivery.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and supplier performance management.
- Collaborate with commercial, supply chain, and R&D to align procurement with business needs.
- Provide market insights and category management to inform decisions.
- Oversee the contracting process from supplier selection to final negotiation.
- Manage supply chain risks and ensure timely innovation delivery.
Measures of Success:
- Financial: Oversee £30-50M spend with contract approval up to £1.5M.
- Operational: Effective supplier, SKU, and factory management.
- Tender portfolio requirements and negotiate to secure optimal pricing.
Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
- Experience in driving cost reductions and maintaining quality.
- Ability to manage supplier relationships under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in supplier negotiation, risk management, procurement strategy, and category management.
- Proficient in SAP and financial forecasting.
- Strong market insight and direct procurement experience.
Package:
- Salary: £49,850 per annum
