Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Technician to support airworthiness, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks for small unmanned aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will perform end-to-end functional testing, document all inspection and repair activities, and assist in maintaining a fleet of UAS and associated equipment. This position requires a proactive individual capable of working independently while ensuring close coordination with on-site flight operations and remote support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Aircraft Systems Support & Maintenance
- Evaluate and determine airworthiness of small, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
- Access and utilize online shared folders for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance manuals, and checklists.
- Perform power on/off functions and conduct thorough end-to-end functional testing of UAS.
- Execute repair actions on UAS components, ensuring all procedures adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Track and manage small UAS and component configurations, assignments, and distribution records.
Documentation & Reporting
- Log and record inspection and repair outcomes, raising any identified issues to relevant personnel.
- Generate and manage defect and reliability reports, tracking and following up on any required corrective actions.
- Contribute to SOPs and visual guides by taking photos and making basic updates, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Advise on the overall readiness status of the UAS fleet, providing insights into operational efficiency and reliability.
Inventory & Tool Management
- Manage and maintain spare inventory of UAS components and tools on-site, ensuring readiness for repair and replacement needs.
- Track spare parts, tools, and support equipment inventories, including managing tool calibration schedules to maintain operational standards.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate all activities with on-site flight operations, customer support teams, and remote maintenance management personnel.
- Ensure alignment with company policies and procedures, promoting a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment.
