Position Overview: The General Foreman will oversee and coordinate all on-site activities, ensuring the project is executed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site engineers, and subcontractors, leading by example to maintain high standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities, including workforce allocation, machinery, and materials
- Ensure work is conducted according to specifications, schedules, and design plans
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members and stakeholders
- Oversee quality control on-site, proactively resolving issues to ensure high standards are met
- Act as the primary point of contact on-site, liaising with the Project Manager, engineers, and subcontractors
- Monitor progress, report updates to the Project Manager, and adapt plans to meet project milestones
- Manage site logistics, including equipment maintenance and material supplies
- Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them, especially concerning environmental and water safety regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in civil engineering, particularly in water management, flood defense, or reservoir projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of site health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Familiarity with water safety practices and flood defense structures
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and plans
- CSCS card, SMSTS/SSSTS, and First Aid certifications are preferred
