The Galley Planning Manager is responsible for developing and implementing galley plans for onboard catering requirements for various Air Canada brands, including Air Canada Rouge, Air Canada Express, and Jetz.
The incumbent will analyze service and space requirements to ensure compliance with corporate safety, financial, and operational objectives. Acting as a critical link between Planning and Operations, this role facilitates communication and coordination between teams, driving automation, process improvements, and galley optimization. Additionally, the incumbent will problem-solve and develop space solutions based on project analysis and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Galley Planning:
... - Design of galley specifications to support operational, cost and space/weight efficiency while maintaining the ultimate safety and serviceability of all galley plans.
- Ensure all galleys are in alignment with established Health & Safety regulations and ergonomic parameters.
- Manage records related to weight and balance in the development of onboard galleys.
- Develop galley solutions for new products, equipment and/or service designs.
- Manage communication regarding all information bulletins.
- Train caterers worldwide in galley system, as required.
- Lead performance space assessments, including for new aircraft, as required.
Jetz:
- Responsible for the overall design and delivery of galley standards, specifications, and modifications associated with all regular and ad-hoc Jetz charters.
- Liaise with Jetz team on upcoming charter schedule and plan for catering and security servicing accordingly.
- Manage caterers at different station locations for food specifications and overall service requirements as well as Jetz flight schedules.
- Work closely with Jetz inflight crew on specific customer requirements and caterer performance feedback.
- Communicate with cross functional teams and issue stowage bulletins regarding Jetz charters.
- Process and reconcile Jetz catering invoices.
- Manage monthly accrual processing.
Qualifications
- Possess at least a high school diploma.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with an aptitude to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities within tight deadlines.
- 5 years of experience in airline catering and gallery planning operations an asset.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Sense of initiative, self-discipline, proactive thinking and problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as required.
