Function Developer

About the Role:
As a Function Developer, you will have the exciting opportunity to design, develop, and validate innovative technical solutions that meet both consumer and business needs within our coffee portfolio. You will apply your expertise in physics to ensure that product innovations are robust, reliable, and perform flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate complex consumer and business requirements into proven technical solutions and innovative products.
- Work within multidisciplinary project teams, collaborating with professionals in marketing, design, and innovation, while also working closely with our partners and supply base.
- Align consumer needs with business propositions, partnering with marketing, consumer research, and supply teams.
- Convert commercial, functional, and aesthetic product requirements into technical concepts and solutions.
- Define and oversee experiments to evaluate concepts against established requirements.
- Translate the underlying physics of concepts into a solid understanding of how the product works, ensuring robustness and reliability.
- Take ownership of delivering new functions on time with optimal performance, quality, reliability, safety, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support the business in shaping the innovation strategy and continuously drive improvements in our ways of working.
You Will Be Part Of:
In this dynamic role, you will be a part of Versuni's Coffee Appliances team, working with functional departments responsible for marketing, design, product research, function development, architecture, mechanical and electronic development.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Education: Master’s degree in a technical field (preferably in applied physics or mechanical engineering).
- Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in developing new functionality for consumer products.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking with a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Creative mindset with the ability to explore and implement new technologies and ideas.
- Quality-driven, yet pragmatic with a positive “can-do” attitude, especially in a dynamic environment.
- Strong influencing skills, with a high degree of self-discipline and perseverance to deliver either independently or within teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
- Additional Certifications:
- Black Belt certification (an advantage).
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma and Green Belt certification is a plus.
