Air Canada Languages Services is looking for a French second-language instructor specialized in teaching adults.
Responsabilities:
- The instructor must prepare the courses to meet individual or group needs: conversation and grammar courses at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, and specific courses such as advanced business writing.
- The instructor will also carry out certain administrative tasks, such as communicating with employees regarding course registrations and recording attendance in Excel files.
- As needed, the instructor may also be asked to participate in and contribute to Linguistic Services’ activities: educational or promotional material development, intranet site updates, presentations, etc.
- Even though most courses are currently offered virtually, the successful candidate must be ready to travel to the various Air Canada bases, from St. John’s to Vancouver, wherever in-person training will be offered. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to work from Air Canada’s offices on administration days.
- The successful candidate will receive training in the technical vocabulary and the operations of the airport environment and in-flight service.
Qualifications
- French as first language, full proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education.
- Minimum of five years of experience in interactive instruction.
- Experience in teaching and developing course curricula.
- Ability to offer non-traditional instruction that is more interactive and informal.
- Experience with placement tests for training purposes.
- Creativity in the development of course material and various parallel, related activities.
- Flexibility with regard to the work schedule and work destinations to meet needs.
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with others as well as independently.
