Their Kinship Team plays a crucial role in this mission by supporting kinship carers and facilitating positive outcomes for children in kinship care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Kinship Carers: Provide guidance, support, and supervision to kinship carers to ensure the well-being and stability of children in their care.
- Complete Assessments: Conduct Connected Persons Assessments and Regulation 24 assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Foster Carer Reviews: Perform regular reviews of foster carers, assessing their capabilities and offering necessary training and development opportunities.
- Support Services Participation: Engage in support services, including training sessions, support groups, and other activities designed to enhance the skills and resilience of kinship carers.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, prepare reports, and contribute to case planning and reviews.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England
- Experience: Previous experience in fostering, kinship care, or a related field. Experience with Connected Persons Assessments and Regulation 24 assessments is highly desirable
- Skills: Strong assessment and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a compassionate approach to working with children and families
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fostering regulations, child protection, and safeguarding practices
