Key Responsibilities
Form F Assessments: Conduct comprehensive Form F assessments for prospective foster carers, evaluating their suitability and readiness to provide foster care.
Home Visits: Carry out home visits to gather detailed information about the prospective foster carers' environment and family dynamics.
Report Writing: Prepare detailed and accurate Form F assessment reports, presenting findings and recommendations to fostering panels.
Support and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to prospective foster carers throughout the assessment process, addressing any concerns and ensuring they understand the fostering role.
Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals, including fostering agencies, social workers, and panel members, to ensure a thorough and fair assessment process.
Training: Deliver training sessions to prospective foster carers, covering essential aspects of foster care and preparing them for their roles.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: A degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant experience in conducting Form F assessments and working in foster care or adoption services.
Skills:
Strong assessment and analytical skills.
Excellent report writing abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with prospective foster carers.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in foster care.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
