Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee all financial aspects of the manufacturing plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Manage and monitor plant financial performance, including variance analysis and cost control.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Develop, implement, and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts for the plant.
Conduct regular reviews of financial performance against budget and forecast, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvements.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Cost Management:
Analyze and manage plant costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Internal Controls:
Develop and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard plant assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Conduct regular internal audits and address any identified issues or discrepancies.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor the plant finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and support career growth.
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with plant leadership to support strategic planning and business development initiatives.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
Stay updated on industry trends, changes in financial regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications
Min 5 years experience in a similar position
Bachelor in accounting ( CPA a serious asset )
familiar with an ERP ( Oracle, SAP , JD Edwards or other manufacturing related )
Strong Excel
Bilingual
