finance officer.

This role is for someone who is proactive and willing to ‘give things a go’. The position will prioritise ensuring effective processes and provide opportunity for the right candidate to advance their accounting knowledge. This is a 10 month fixed-term contract position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all regular payment runs and review for accuracy.
• Ensure timely and efficient payment, approval of supplier invoices.
• Ownership of the finance mailbox, ensuring prompt response to queries
• Monthly reporting and period end journal entries
• Assist the Finance team with ad hoc reporting on business functions.
• Bank reconciliations, ensuring all reconciling items are cleared.
• Complete NZ payroll in timely and accurate manner, reviewing and understanding for variances.
• Complete NZ tax returns for GST and FBT
• Provide back-up to other functions within Finance.
• Work collaboratively ensuring effective working relationships across the wider organisation.
• Maintain and develop professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role is required. Preferred experience with various accounting software systems and general ledger activities is desired.
