Job Description:
The Finance Manager will oversee and manage the Finance department, ensuring robust financial operations and supporting the strategic financial planning for development projects. This role will involve leading financial planning, conducting feasibility studies, managing cash flow, and implementing effective financial controls. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the real estate/property development industry and familiar with property billing and accounting software.
Responsibilities:
Finance Department Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable (AP/AR) processes.
- Ensure accurate monthly revenue collection, vendor billings, staff claims, and journal entries.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Lead financial planning and cash flow management for development projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop financial projections.
Credit Control:
- Manage credit control and ensure timely collection of receivables.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Develop and implement efficient financial SOPs for projects and the company.
Business Partnering:
- Partner with business departments on financial aspects of development launches.
- Provide insightful accounting, finance, and tax expertise on commercial contracts and financial incentives.
Tax Management:
- Prepare tax computations, coordinate the filing of tax returns, process tax payments, and manage withholding tax.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the CFO to develop budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Accounting Records:
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including fixed assets, AP/AR, and project capital expenditures.
Software Proficiency:
- Experience with IFCA, MHW, or other property billing and accounting software.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and management account reporting.
- Manage year-end closing and submission of financial statements for regulatory compliance and tax purposes.
Liaison and Compliance:
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other professional advisors.
- Ensure adherence to the company's accounting policies, financial controls, and risk management framework.
Ad-hoc Tasks:
- Manage other ad-hoc finance-related tasks as needed.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of working experience in Finance with good working knowledge of accounting (AP, AR, and GL).
- Experience in the Real Estate/Property Development Industry is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of credit and financial analysis is advantageous.
