Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
Strategic Planning:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for new projects and investments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, review, and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to predict future financial performance.
- Monitor and report on budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments.
- Optimize the use of financial resources and manage working capital efficiently.
- Oversee the treasury function, including banking relationships and debt management.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of team members.
- Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance department and across other departments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the property development or real estate industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws in Malaysia.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
