Randstad Senior Finance is partnering with a client in Melbourne's South East to find an experienced and strategic Finance Business Partnering Manager. This key leadership role supports the Faculty Finance Manager in delivering high-quality financial management services with a focus on strategic financial reporting, analysis, and operational support.
Role Overview:
The Finance Business Partnering Manager leads a team of finance professionals to provide strategic financial analysis, advice, and support to senior leaders. The role involves overseeing budgeting, financial modelling, and reporting processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, providing expert financial guidance and ensuring alignment with broader business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Management: Guide the development and implementation of strategies to improve financial capability, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance monitoring.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of finance professionals to deliver exceptional service and continuous improvement.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports and performance analysis for senior management and stakeholders.
- Business Partnering: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders across the School, providing strategic advice on financial matters and responding to complex financial challenges.
- Project Leadership: Lead key financial projects, including policy and procedure reviews, and manage changes in response to legislative or University updates.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial, tax, and legal requirements, while identifying and mitigating risks that affect the School’s financial performance.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications: Postgraduate qualifications in business or accounting with CA/CPA accreditation, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Proven track record in financial management, including budgeting, reporting, analysis, and auditing in a large, complex organisation. Higher education sector experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent financial management and business partnering skills, with the ability to influence and provide strategic advice at senior levels.
- Strong leadership and team management experience, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency (e.g., SAP, TM1).
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
