Responsibilities
OHS
oLead the Erections teams to adhere to BCCSA/COR certification requirements
oEfficiently utilize Site Docs as our corporate OHS “paperless” platform
QA
oUtilize the Quality Management System, NCR, and continuous improvement process
oLead the Erection teams to adhere to company Erection QA procedures
oWork with the executive and management teams to achieve ISO certification
HR
oBuild, maintain, and mentor a high-performance team of Supervisors, Foremen, and Ironworkers
oAchieve and maintain CWB Welding Supervisor Certification for all Supervisors and Foremen
Pre-Construction and Construction
oRemain current with the CISC Code of Standard Practice and BC Building Code
oProvide Estimating support on large or complex projects
oParticipate in pre-job meetings
oProvide technical leadership in all aspects of steel erection
Communication
oLiaison with management team (DO, Shop, PM) to meet or project schedules
oMaintain and grow relationships with all related stakeholders
oCommunicate frequently with site superintendents and project managers to ensure efficient coordinated erection activities
oAdvise team on weekly site Supervision activities
Administration
oEffectively delegate admin tasks to support staff
oExecute administrative requirements to include erection plans, daily progress reports, logging employee hours, tool box meetings, next day duty assignments, and invoice approvals
Accountability
oManage full-cycle construction budget for Erection activities
oAdvise PM on trends related to operations (hrs), equipment, and crane costs
oParticipate in project close out meetings and provide related commentary
Qualifications
•Minimum 10 years Steel Erection experience in a Management role
•Extensive experience in an OHS ~ BCCSA/COR and/or QA ~ ISO environment
•Ability to read, interpret, and fully comprehend engineering specifications, engineered design drawings, specifications, scope of work, and contracts
•Experience in Bluebeam and Tekla is an asset
•Motivated self-starter, who thrives in a team environment
•Able to manage and organize a complex stream of information efficiently
•Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Required Certifications
•Valid fall protection, aerial lift and zoom boom tickets
•Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
