Job Purpose &ScopeTo manage and provide the necessary leadership in order that the overall operations department achieves its objectives in terms of SHE, quality, quantity, customer satisfaction, cost, overall efficiency and management development of both people and the business, in line with the company’s corporate goals and philosophy.2. Key Result Areasa. The FOM’s immediate departmental organization will consist of: Production, Maintenance, projects, QA/Tech support, SHE, Logistical managers each having a designated head count applicable to operate andmanage departmental business. The incumbent is responsible for all indirect, direct and contractual workers within the operations departmentb. The object of the department is to manufacture and deliver company products and services in line with customer needs, agreed technical specifications and according to production plan and budgeted costprice, to pursue efficiency improvements and cost reduction continuously and to assess development, whilst proposing and implementing capital projects.c. Adopt and take ownership of the corporate Mission Statement. Whilst working within the newly developed RtG strategy together with the values and beliefs of the company.3. Key Responsibilities &Job Contenta. Ensure adequate safety measures which minimize the risk of accidents in line with RI policyb. Ensure that the environment protection, as a minimum, meets official requirements and that measures are planned to meet future requirementsc. Ensure that the factory site is kept clean, clear of mess and is and maintained to meet the local and “RI” fire requirements and regular fire and housekeeping audits are held and reported, ensuring HOKE grouplevels are attained.d. Prepare and implement short as well as long term improvements of efficiency, including costs in termsof production, warehousing, loading and maintenance & minimizing all losses.e. Improve quality assurance on an on-going basis. Fulfil all codes &standards & in general ensure that all products meet agreed quality standards and market/customer requirements.f. Maximize group synergy and networking in process improvement and cost reduction.g. Ensure cost efficient maintenance of equipment to achieve lowest possible downtime.h. Ensure security measures which protect our process and other know-how are in place.i. Ensure that there always exists an updated short- and long-term plan for the Operations Department based on an overall Factory Master Plan (FMP).j. Motivate, assess and develop the organization via individuals to the highest standards.k. Production of products in accordance with budgeted outputs, efficiencies & according to agreed technical specifications.l. Budgeted downtime & waste requirements are met.m. Production costs are within budgeted levels &Maintenance budget is not exceeded at all times.n. Products are delivered on time, in correct quantities to ensure highest customer satisfaction.o. Proprietary information including property, design, equipment, parts and products are protected.p. Minimize working capitals and any loss or damage to finish goods is minimized.q. Projects within the Factory organization are completed on time and with approved costs.r. Environmental control is satisfactory and that any external complaints are promptly investigated.s. Motivate workforce with low level of absenteeism and turnover.u. Up to date job descriptions, training, and multi-tasking schemes for subordinatesv. The company operates within the Occupational Health & Safety Act at all times &that regular Occupational Health &Safety meetings take place are minute.w. Required weekly/monthly/quarterly reports are produced by the required dates.x. That “RI” personal are working efficiently on site and deliver expectations including reasonable expenses, accommodation, travel expenses etc.y. Take an active role in the development of both 3 & 1 year FMP and company strategic plans for the Company, inc process development. Working jointly with other functions to deliver agree customer expectations and /or business needsz. Other duties consistent with the job holders position within the company.5. Communication and Working Relationshipsa. Inside the company - Ensure a coordinated and aligned relation to local sales management in order to handle market requests.b. Outside the company - Customers - Local/state Departments – authorities /Agencies – No media reporting w/o the superiors permission - Key Suppliers, inc equipment &materials. - Consultants#LI-KN
