My client is seeking an Executive Editor (EE) to lead the expansion of their editorial operations across Asia. This individual will oversee both the magazine and digital content, managing an editorial team across the region. The EE will play a critical role in developing content tailored to the SEA market and will work closely with the listings team to identify market needs and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy: Develop and implement a content strategy for the magazine and digital platforms, focusing on SEA market trends, business developments, and financial insights, including S&P and Moody’s ratings.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of writers and editors, providing editorial direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality content. My client plans to expand the editorial team.
- Editorial Oversight: Oversee the production of a mix of business-focused and lifestyle content, ensuring it engages readers and emphasizes market intelligence and trends.
- Market Insights: Collaborate with the listings and market research teams to stay abreast of current economic and market conditions in Asia, using these insights to guide editorial content.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Asia Editor and other global teams to align on editorial priorities and provide cohesive coverage of both global and regional stories.
- Publication Management: Understand the unique dynamics of magazine production versus a traditional news desk, ensuring deadlines are met and content meets the publication’s strategic goals.
- Business Writing: Contribute directly to business articles, showcasing the ability to communicate complex market trends and insights clearly and effectively.
skills and experience required
- Proven experience as an editor or business writer, with a track record of managing editorial teams or overseeing publications.
- Strong understanding of SEA markets, with particular expertise in finance, business trends, and market ratings (S&P/Moody’s experience is advantageous).
- Experience in both print and digital media, especially with magazines.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and editorial direction skills.
- Ability to collaborate across global teams and create editorial strategies aligned with market needs.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with a passion for crafting insightful, impactful content.
