About the Opportunity
APS5 and APS6 Events Officers, 12-month contracts with a strong possibility of renewal. These full-time positions offer a flexible, hybrid work environment, ensuring a great work-life balance. While the role is based in Geelong or Richmond, some in-office time is required. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply.
About the Role
The Events team encompasses four key functions that cover event management and support third-party events and expos and executive and ministerial event support. This service offer enables the agency to deliver impactful and successful events while fostering internal and external connections and advancing the interests of the agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Accessibility: Advocate for best practice accessibility, ensuring equal participation for all attendees, and arrange interpreters and supports as needed.
- Event Coordination and Management: Collaborate with the Events leadership team to identify NDIA attendance opportunities, manage event calendars, and provide logistical support for various events.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with internal and external stakeholders to align event objectives with organisational goals and effectively engage relevant stakeholders.
- Project and Budget Management: Oversee multiple event aspects, monitor progress, coordinate activities, and manage budgets to track expenditure and seek cost-saving opportunities.
- Risk Management and Evaluation: Identify potential risks, develop contingency plans, ensure compliance with relevant policies, and evaluate event success to gather feedback and provide recommendations for future events.
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship
- Demonstrated understanding and positive attitude towards people with disabilities, with knowledge of disability impacts.
- Relevant event coordination experience, particularly in large organisations, including managing virtual and hybrid events, and multiple events under tight deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication skills, and budget management experience, with proficiency in risk assessment and compliance.
- Strong critical thinking, organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritise tasks effectively.
