This position will work across projects such as Hydro, Excavation, Utility Pole Installation, Trenching, Directional Drilling, and overall utility repair and installation. Responsibilities
• Prepare estimates for heavy civil construction projects
• Analyze tender documents, including specifications, drawings, and reports, to perform necessary pricing calculations.
• Assess potential risks linked to each project and identify appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Manage coordination of materials and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Support project management teams in handling changes, including clarifying modifications, resolving issues, and pricing adjustments.
• Develop and submit pre-qualification and tender proposals, presenting them to clients.
• Calculate material quantities and costs using estimating software or Excel spreadsheets.
• Schedule Electrical Safety Authority inspections when applicable.
Qualifications
• Experience in civil construction highly regarded
• Experience with estimation
• Ability to read construction drawings is preferred
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite Programs & QuickBooks
• Ability to analyze historical project data and apply to present bidding strategies.
• Effective verbal/written communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy
