English teachers are essential in helping students enhance their language skills and achieve academic success. This is a one-year fixed-term contract, beginning as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging and effective English lessons for students with diverse abilities and needs.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through ongoing assessments and formal examinations.
- Offer constructive feedback to support students in improving their language skills.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to fit individual learning styles.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create and enhance curriculum resources.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, encouraging their active involvement in the educational process.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service is necessary.
- A minimum of 3 months of teaching experience in the UK.
- A proven track record of success in teaching at an 11-16 school.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge and passion for the English language and literature.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Familiarity with the UK education system and curriculum.
