Electronic Systems Engineer Role - 12 months contract - Peterborough
The successful candidate will be working on several Electronic system projects to develop systems that meet both regulatory and customer requirements. This role involves serving as the primary technical support for the Engine Electronic system, working proactively with the Electronics team and development partners throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from pre-production development to post-production maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the definition of system architecture, including diagrams and schematics.
- Assisting in the selection of appropriate Electronic components.
- Participating in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and validation activities for the Electronic system and its components, as well as maintaining and improving validation test plans.
- Providing technical support for queries related to pinouts, schematics, and software functionality.
- Investigating, analysing, and troubleshooting reported quality issues.
Must have skills:
- Electronic systems knowledge - Proven methodical fault-finding and Validation capability during development and post production. (Not looking for an electrician or PCB level design)
- Electronic systems design - requirements, documenting and FMEA
- Defining Electronic features and coordinating the development of them with other teams.
- Understanding internal combustion engines and how they are controlled - Governor etc.
- Ability to build strong working relationships, locally and within a Global team
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office
- Tools including CANape CANalyzer
- Requirements management (DOORS, Teamcenter etc.)
- Off-highway Electronic control system development experience (or comparable experience with automotive, marine or military vehicle control systems)
- Knowledge of engine systems associated with the electronic system eg: Fuel and Air system etc.
- Proficient in oscilloscope use in development.
- Product structuring and configuration tools eg: Siemens Teamcenter Engineering, Creo. PPAP or FMEA facilitator and design validation planning experience
Additional Information:
- This is a hybrid role, 3 days on-site is mandatory. Primarily an office based role but with time required in an Electronics lab,engine test cells and in machines
- 12 month FTC - with the likelihood of the role being extended
- 4+ years of experience is KEY
- You will be joining a vibrant team of 20!
- ASAP start date
- Working hours : 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thurs, 08:30-16:15 Fri
Rate is
- PAYE : £27.14 / PH
- RUHP : £30.42 / PH
- Umbrella : £35.02 / PH
