Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Rochester, Kent
Shifts: 4 on 4 off, Day shifts (07:00- 19:00 / 12:00 - 00:00)
Salary: Circa £50,000
Benefits: Annual Bonus + Salary scheme + 28 Days Holiday
This company is a well-established, family-owned business in the Southeast of England, specializing in fruit production. They have a long history in the industry, spanning over 70 years, and are known for their commitment to quality and innovation. With a team of over 250 employees, they operate multiple production warehouses for a variety of clients. They have a strong focus on technology and automation, and are currently looking to add a mechanically-skilled engineer to their team.
The ideal candidate would be a competent maintenance engineer with an electrical bias comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated, and automated environment. You must be able to bring your established skill set but be willing to learn, adapt and work as a team.
Your responsibilities:
- Join a team of engineers responsible for keeping production lines running smoothly.
- Perform both planned and reactive maintenance on equipment.
- Fault find and repair electrical and mechanical components
- Ensure all safety regulations and policies are followed.
- Maintain a high standard of preventative maintenance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment availability and efficiency.
The requirements:
- You've completed an engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, or NVQ Level 3) / hold an 18th Edition qualification.
- You've spent at least 5 years working as an electrical engineer or technician in a manufacturing or production setting.
- You've got a solid understanding of PLC-based control systems.
- You're familiar with using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan maintenance and track repairs.
- You're up to speed on all the relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements.
