We are seeking a Electrical Design Engineer to support our client, one of Canada's biggest energy management and automation firms, in their Richmond location. In this role, you will work full-time hours, initially on a 12 month assignment.

Schedule/overtime: Mon to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Responsibilities
• Designing systems of products and complex IoT offers, including developing requirements, creating technical specifications, and performing functional analysis
• Creating functional decompositions to allocate system functions to subsystems and managing requirements for traceability and bug tracking;
• Support electrical design throughout the engineering process from initial concept to final production release
• Design electrical hardware through the creation of single line diagrams, simulations, component selection, schematic & circuit design
• Design analog and digital logic circuits, including amplifiers, filters, voltage references, signal conditioning circuits, ADC, DAC converters, microcontroller interfaces and memory systems
• Design and develop power electronics circuits, low power converters, AC-DC converters, relay driving circuit
• Collaborate with PCB layout designers to ensure optimal layout for power electronics circuits, analog and digital design circuits considering signal integrity, EMI/EMC, power distribution, and thermal requirements
• Build prototypes, develop test plans, perform, and support electrical tests (Board bring-up, DVT EMI/EMC), and analyze data to optimize the designs for performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability
• Lead the PCBA, system troubleshooting & design change activities
• Support quality team for various reliability analyses (DMA, MTBF, THB, DFMEA, critical component)
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• 5+ years of experience related to Electrical engineering, including design, testing and troubleshooting
• Strong electrical engineering skills with hands-on experience with AC and DC Systems and high and low voltage systems design
• Hands-on experience in Analog and Digital circuit designs
• Hands-on experience with schematic design software with a preference for PADS & OrCAD
• Experience with UL certification, National Electrical Code, and IEC standards
