We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Leeds on a long-term basis starting ASAP.

Location: Leeds
Salary: £22,000 - £23,454 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: January 2025
Requirements:
... - Proven experience as a DT Technician or similar role in an educational or practical setting.
- Relevant qualifications for the role.
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)..
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

- Strong knowledge of workshop tools and equipment
- The ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Design and Technology with department planning
- Preparation of teaching materials e.g. materials & tools/equipment as required
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and productive learning environment
- To provide regular classroom support in D&T working alongside staff particularly supporting the less able students.
- Assessing the risks associated with technician tasks
- Assist students with technical advice during project work.
- Ensure all equipment complies with current safety regulations.
