Our client is one of the well-known food suppliers in Singapore. They are seeking a Director of Procurement as part of their succession planning and aim to develop the individual for this role.

about the job

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert by developing policies and procedures related to procurement and planning.
• Identify and analyze sales trends and influencing factors, incorporating this analysis into forecasting and inventory planning.
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers of food and beverage raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to meet business needs.
• Regularly assess cost-saving opportunities and ensure that product prices align with current market rates, are sourced efficiently, and provide optimal value for the business.
• Lead accurate demand forecasting in collaboration with sales and marketing by effectively monitoring and communicating forecasts, changes, inventory estimates, supply conditions, business risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the purchasing system, Costpoint, and provide strategic direction on procurement actions, approval workflows, thresholds, and tracking for Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders.
• Stay informed about import/export regulations and ensure compliance, providing training and guidance to staff as needed.
