• Develop and deliver the evolution of the Departments website content strategy – a primary communications channel – to enhance the user experience and the business reputation, while supporting its marketing and brand goals

• Manage the website’s core content management activities including governance, creation, editing and publishing, along with sub-sites/partner sites and other channels as directed

• Introduce content initiatives, develop in-house content processes to industry-standards, and uplift the capability of key employees to develop website content according to best practice principles

The role will:

• Lead, develop and implement the website content strategy to align with the group’s multi-channel strategy; and the business marketing, communications and operational needs
• Lead the creation, editing, approving and publishing for the website and other customer websites/sub-sites
• Support the delivery of other communication channels delivered by the Corporate Communications and Marketing group
• Support the delivery of incident communications via digital channels in a timely manner, and fit-for purpose content alongside Department’s incident management teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the next phase content strategy implementation in line with the digital vision, governance standards and best-practice requirements (i.e. AA WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Compliance)

• Assist with identifying and conducting analysis to inform digital content to enhance the delivery of digital content

• Assist business users, contractors and other stakeholders to develop digital materials and to maintain content, ensuring currency and accuracy of information

• Assist with educating and guiding others on how to use online systems and platforms, including providing training and developing guideline
• Author, editor, approver and publisher: review and process content changes, consult on new content requests on the corporate website

Required Capabilities:

• Extensive experience writing for digital, with proven ability to create content that is accessible, usable, provides value to customers and the business
• Extensive experience operating as an internal service provider including managing work queues, meeting service level agreements, managing expectations
• Experience of working with digital marketing channels
• Knowledge of and interest in online communication current practice and trends, including usability, accessibility, information architecture and metrics
• Expertise in developing and quality assuring digital communications to enhance user experience and deliver targeted messaging
• Capability to provide advice and guidance on Drupal.
• Support the delivery of communications through other digital channels as required

System Experience:

• Drupal - Experience using content publishing systems (Drupal 9 and 10 preferred)
• Experience with service request management tools (ServiceNow preferred)
• Social Pin Point
• Strong understanding and practical application of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)

To be successful in this role you must hold:
* Public sector experience is preferred.

* Extensive website strategy, content management and content creation experience

* Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, acting as a business partner to produce content.

* Tertiary degree (qualifications relevant to role preferred but not required, i.e.Communications/Information and Communications Technology/Web/Digital Media)
