Are you an experienced Senior Design Manager looking to advance your career in a dynamic and inclusive team? We are seeking a talented individual to manage the design aspects of tenders and projects in progress within the Kent business. This position offers a mix of project-based and office-based work, with flexibility for occasional remote working.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage effective project design resources at bid and delivery stages.
• Lead a professional, comprehensive, and sustainable design service for clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate the design process through the RIBA stages, ensuring innovation and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the completion and compliance of design management procedures.
• Develop and implement effective design strategies and scopes of service.
• Organize and manage design reviews and coordination meetings.
• Ensure alignment of design with commercial and construction requirements, as well as budget constraints.
• Must have DFE (Department For Education) projects expereince.

Key Tasks:

• Deliver a fully coordinated design strategy in collaboration with lead designers.
• Manage and ensure adherence to design briefs and scopes of service.
• Facilitate design reviews to confirm quality and compliance.
• Maintain focus on commercial viability and construction feasibility during the design process.
• Support bid and delivery stages by leveraging expertise in Education, Healthcare, and other sectors, with a strong understanding of DfE projects.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in the main contracting market, managing projects across various disciplines such as Education and Healthcare.
• Proven ability to handle both single-stage and two-stage tenders.
• Strong understanding of construction design techniques.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Design Management or a related field) and/or CIOB membership.
• Excellent communication and team management skills.
