The Design Director will collaborate with the head of the brand to plan the overall design and creative direction, ensuring that all designs reflect the brand's core philosophy, align with market positioning, and appeal to the target audience. This role requires a deep understanding of fashion trends and consumer preferences, leading the design team to achieve consistency in innovation from product design to visual communication.
Main Responsibilities:
- Product Design and Development:
- Lead the product design and development process from conceptualization to product realization, ensuring alignment with brand identity and market demands.
- Track and analyze fashion, jewelry design, and consumer trends to drive innovation and maintain product uniqueness.
- Collaborate closely with procurement and production departments to ensure design feasibility and cost control in mass production, ensuring product quality consistency with the brand.
- Cross-Department Collaboration and Team Management:
- Build, manage, and motivate the design team, fostering creativity to ensure efficient and high-quality design processes.
- Work in conjunction with marketing, product, and procurement departments to ensure design supports brand marketing strategies and sales objectives.
- Lead design reviews and creative workshops to promote innovation and brand development.
- Brand Vision and Design Strategy:
- Participate in the formulation of the brand's overall design philosophy and visual communication strategy, ensuring consistency across all platforms and media (including products, packaging, social media, official website, e-commerce platforms, etc.).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with a preference for design, visual arts, jewelry design, or related fields, and a background from renowned design institutions (such as Parsons, Central Saint Martins, Rhode Island Design School).
- Over 5 years of experience in jewelry, fashion accessory design, and creative fields.
- In-depth understanding of design trends and consumer needs in the European and American markets, with the ability to adjust design strategies based on market dynamics and brand positioning.
- Exceptional creative leadership skills to inspire the team and facilitate cross-department collaboration, driving brand innovation and growth.
- Excellent English communication skills to communicate effectively with international teams and external partners.
- Preference for candidates with work or life experience in Europe or America, familiar with the aesthetic standards and cultural background of the European and American markets.
