Responsibilities
As a Criminal Justice Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals within the criminal justice system. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing a diverse caseload of individuals, including those who have been convicted of offences ranging from domestic violence to sex offences.
- Preparing comprehensive reports for the courts and the Parole Board, providing expert analysis of individuals' backgrounds, risk factors, and potential for rehabilitation.
- Collaborating with other professionals in the criminal justice system, including probation officers, police officers, and court staff, to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to supporting individuals.
- Managing CPO (Community Payback Orders) and Throughcare Licences, working with individuals to ensure compliance with their requirements and to provide support and guidance as they transition back into the community.
- Applying a trauma-informed approach to working with individuals, recognizing the impact of trauma on their lives and providing culturally sensitive and tailored support.
- Assessing and managing the risk posed by individuals, promoting public safety while providing support and intervention.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Social Work
- Registration with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council)
- Car Driver
- LSCMI trained
- SARAv3 and Caledonian Experience preferred
