Position Overview:
The Country General Manager will lead the retail Division. This is a pivotal role that requires a balance of operational excellence, strategic vision, and entrepreneurial drive to achieve the company’s ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Operations: Oversee and strengthen Sales & Business development & operational functions, including logistics, marketing, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a robust growth plan to increase turnover from $20M to $40M within 3-4 years, leveraging market opportunities, technology investments, and brand repositioning.
- Leadership Development: Lead and mentor a multi-layered team, integrating long-tenured staff with new talent to create a cohesive, innovative workforce.
- Market Expansion: Explore new market opportunities in Singapore, Malaysia, and beyond, capitalizing on the e-commerce boom and reaching broader audiences.
- Change Management: Modernize legacy systems and processes, addressing inefficiencies while preserving the company’s core values.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the leadership team, Managing Director and Board of Members to align on strategic initiatives and milestones.
First 12-24 Months Focus:
- Months 1-6: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the business, its operations, and culture.
- Months 6-12: Streamline operations, optimize costs, and establish a foundation for growth.
- Months 12-24: Execute strategic initiatives to drive turnover growth and reposition the brand.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven track record of driving growth in SMEs / MNC’s, ideally with experience managing $6-15M turnover businesses.
- Strong background in operational roles, including logistics, HR, sales, marketing, and finance.
- Experience navigating SME culture and politics, with a deep understanding of the Singapore market.
- Previous experience in roles reporting to CEOs/General Managers or as a business leader with P&L responsibility.
