Responsibilities
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all of the company's accounting functions, including the preparation of financial statements, audit management, and regulatory compliance. This position requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and an ability to manage an accounting team.
Main tasks:
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the accounting team.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
- Analyze financial data and provide reports to management.
- Participate in budget planning and financial forecasting.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial initiatives.
- Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Qualifications
- CPA, a major asset
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to take initiative
- Bilingual environment
- Strong work ethic and great attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel
