Buyer - Award-Winning Main Contractor, Kent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join an award-winning main contractor based in Kent. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects, this family-focused company is looking to expand its team and is seeking an individual eager to develop their career in construction procurement.
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the preconstruction team on tender submissions and working closely with the design team to identify opportunities and manage potential risks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the selection and procurement of suppliers for plant and materials, ensuring value for money and quality.
- Placing and managing purchase orders while maintaining accurate procurement records.
- Collaborating with the Quantity Surveyor and Site Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- (Optional) Assisting with subcontract procurement if required.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience working for a contractor on projects up to £20M, including new build and refurbishment schemes.
- The ability to carry out your own take-offs and remeasures independently.
- A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for construction and a desire to learn and grow.
