The Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for supporting a Configuration Management initiative on the AJISS program, acting as a strategic contributor for establishing baselines through adherence of a configuration governance framework. This includes creating and maintaining product baseline information structures for various Royal Canadian Navy vessels. In this role you will work with and support multiple teams to ensure the integrity of and changes to product records for mechanical systems on the ships are defined, traceable and visible throughout their lifecycles.
The successful candidate will leverage their existing knowledge and expertise to provide subject matter expertise and become the main point of contact for Configuration/Data Management technical matters.

Responsibilities
Support the configuration change management process for Technical Data Packages
Maintain the lifecycle accuracy and visibility of configuration item (CI) baselines
Maintain existing and support the development of CM/DM processes, procedures and tools
Grow and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
Identify and resolve technical data baseline discrepancies and gaps
Help drive and monitor technical data changes
Perform configuration audits and communicated to affected groups
Evaluate and organize multiple types and volumes of data
Provide support and guidance to stakeholders on CM/DM rules and process requirements
Proactively resolve issues that may impact performance and efficiency
Interface and liaise with project teams and customer
Qualifications
4+ years working experience in Configuration/Data Management
Post-secondary technical degree/diploma from a recognized institution
Strong understanding of Configuration Management concepts and principals
Solid technical writing abilities
Ability to read and interpret drawings and equipment/part family trees
Familiarity with software PLM tools for managing technical data (SAP, Maximo, IBM Infosphere, Windchill)
Education: Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years working experience as a Configuration /Data Management specialist supporting military contracts
Post-secondary certification in an Engineering or similar discipline
CMMII certification or similar
Experience performing data quality audits
Knowledge of Configuration Management EIA-649 or ISO100007
Experience working in shipbuilding, naval or aerospace industries
Proficient in configuration, data, product or task management software is preferred
