An exciting opportunity has become available for a full time permanent position within the government sector for a local council located northwest of the Adelaide CBD.
Priding themselves on having a diverse and inclusive workplace they are looking for a Community Safety Coordinator who is ready to step into a role where your knowledge and expertise will provide day to day support in relation to policies and procedures and workplace operations.
... Responsibilities:
Leading a high performing team, improving community well being and safety, whilst fulfilling regulatory obligations, supporting and directing Community Safety Officers with a clear vision and focus.
- Providing effective leadership to the Community Safety Officers and improving community well-being and safety by fulfilling regulatory obligations.
- Responsible for coordinating community safety programs/projects which meet legal obligations and deliver positive outcomes for the community
- Acting as an escalation point for Community Safety Officers for complex matters and complaints.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring operational procedures and plans relevant to Community Safety Officers.
- Assess and make informed decisions on complex matters with limited direction.
- Undertaking investigations including investigative process, planning and reporting.
- Prepare high quality court proceedings and represent the Council as required.
About You:
- Significant experience within a complex community safety or regulatory role is essential.
- Experience in conflict management, negotiation and mediation
- Experience in leadership role.
- Knowledge in animal behaviour associated with aggression and nuisance behaviours
- Demonstrated knowledge of the legislation, regulations, bylaws and policies - Road Traffic Act, Environment Protection Act, Expiation of Offences.
- Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence is essential.
