We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Community Engagement Advisor to support our mission of enhancing community participation in civic life and informing our decision-making. In this role, you will lead community engagement planning, provide strategic advice, and support our diverse business units with effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the implementation of community engagement projects, ensuring alignment with our Engagement Strategy Framework
- Provide strategic advice and support for engagement initiatives across the organisation
- Develop, deliver, and measure stakeholder engagement strategies that connect with diverse community groups
- Collaborate with the Communication & Engagement team to optimise stakeholder interactions and relationships
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the team and manage risks associated with community engagement activities
Essential Qualifications:
- A degree in Communications or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Certification with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2)
- A current NSW Driver’s Licence
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in community or stakeholder engagement roles
- Proven ability to develop, deliver, and measure community engagement strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Superior time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively
- Strong decision-making skills and goal-oriented focus
- Excellent operational planning and critical thinking abilities
- Superior communication skills, capable of simplifying complex issues for diverse audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively and mentor team members
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience within a government environment
- Background in working with communications or marketing teams
- First Aid certification
