Role Overview:
Join this team as a Communications Advisor, working with departments across the organisation to market and communicate Council’s services and programs to the local community. Build relationships, provide advice, and ensure timely and accurate communication across all channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication plans for Council programs.
- Identify promotion opportunities and manage brand reputation.
- Advise internal teams, senior management, and Councillors.
- Prepare speeches and coordinate marketing materials.
- Attend Council functions and meetings as required.
- Maintain cooperative relationships and ensure high-quality publications.
- Develop community engagement plans and attend sessions as needed.
Requirements:
- Strong skills in public relations and communication strategies.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, MailChimp, and Adobe.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism.
- Experience in local government or similar political environment.
Skills:
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to persuade and convey complex issues clearly.
Additional Information:
- Must undertake a current National Criminal Records Check.
- Valid Right to Work in Australia.
- Completion of a pre-employment health declaration form.
