We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloudera Platform Administrator to join our clients team. As the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Cloudera platform, you will manage and maintain our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, capacity planning, and compliance. This role involves hands-on support for various tools and technologies, including Impala, Hive, and AWS DevOps, along with collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.

- Serve as the SPOC/OSC for the Cloudera platform.
- Plan and manage infrastructure capacity.
- Handle infrastructure vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Respond to and resolve incidents, including Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs).
- Oversee vendor management and platform decommissioning.
- Manage BAU (Business as Usual) release processes.
- Provide support for Hive Meta Store.
- Monitor and maintain the Cloudera platform.
- Rotate passwords and handle infrastructure management.
- Utilised Control-M for scheduling and job management.
Mandatory Skills and Expertise:
- Cloudera Hadoop Administration experience (preferred) or Hortonworks.
- Strong knowledge of Impala (primary) and Hive (secondary).
- Familiarity with Spark for log analysis and issue identification (non-development).
- AWS DevOps experience is a must (Azure experience acceptable as part of squad mix).
- Basic shell scripting knowledge – ability to read, understand, and debug.
Technical and Professional Skills:
- Exposure to Bitbucket (GitHub/Stash).
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Bamboo (or equivalent).
- Ability to coordinate with Cloudera support, including raising tickets and liaising with vendors.
- Bonus: Experience with platform upgrades.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in infrastructure maintenance and vendor coordination.
