You will be based in a satellite house with links to the main service close by in Fife. This home supports up to three young people and functions can vary depending on the residents in place. For example, sometimes it acts as a throughcare service for children moving on from the main house whilst. On other occasions it has provided specialist care for a single child with acute mental health issues as the result of gender dysmorphia. So this will be a varied role often providing new challenges and opportunities to learn!
Salary is up to £29,000 depending on experience with additional sleepover allowances and overtime paid at time and a half,

A successful child support worker will be responsible for:
- Working effectively as part of a team of child support workers
- Providing 24 hours care to a vulnerable young people
- Create a warm and nurturing environment for every child
- Encourage participation in classroom learning as well as alternative learning opportunities
- Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
- Act as a positive parenting role model
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people
- Be skilled in building therapeutic relationships in line with the organisation's core values
- Have knowledge of attachment theory and how this relates to trauma and children in care
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
- Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable
