Responsibilities
-Carry out routine and non-routine testing of process streams as well as testing of finished products (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, propane and asphalt) to ensure quality of products prior to shipment from the plant.
-Wastewater analysis is also included in the list of duties performed. Typical testing could include but not be limited to: distillation, RVP, gravity, density, pour & cloud, flash, sulfur, gas chromatography, TSS, pH, phenols, ammonia, cyanide, sulphides, nitrite and nitrate.
Qualifications
-The successful candidates must hold, as a minimum, a diploma from a technical institute with a Chemical or Petroleum Technology Program. Consideration will also be given to those possessing a Bachelor of Science degree.
-You will be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a self-starter, an effective problem solver, and have mechanical aptitude along with a proven ability to effectively handle several tasks/projects concurrently.
-The successful candidates embrace positive change and are committed to help further advance our client’s safety and reliability culture at the plant.
-Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills are an expectation of these positions.
-Weekend work is required as part of the normal working schedule and some overtime may be available upon completion of our client’s initial training program.
-A strong understanding and commitment to quality control would also be an asset to the successful candidate.
