Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible as the Head of Financial, Tax, and Accounting Management of the group of companies.
Primary Duties:
1. Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee finance, tax, and accounting functions.
- Manage financial management and statutory reporting, including budgetary functions, treasury management, and company secretarial duties.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements (e.g., FRIS, Income Tax Act, Companies Act).
- Liaise with company secretary, solicitors, bankers, auditors, tax agents, government bodies, and regulatory authorities.
2. Strategic Financial Planning:
- Recommend and streamline improvements to business, reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Update the company on Malaysia’s Budget impact and methods to leverage or minimize financial impact.
- Compile and analyze financial and management reports, budgeting, cash flow, and financial management.
3. Investment and Risk Management:
- Manage the company’s investment portfolios and investment funds.
- Prepare monthly reports on fund movements and propose action steps to maximize returns within acceptable risk.
- Lead and propose other financial instruments, new business opportunities, and growth directions, including REITs and other financial investments.
4. Compliance and Governance:
- Review and improve policies, procedures, and systems to provide effective planning, control, and direction of company operations.
- Prepare the annual report, update the company’s website on regulatory matters, and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements under a Public Listed Company.
5. Leadership and Management:
- Lead the finance department, ensuring efficient operation and timely financial information for management and the Board.
- Provide leadership in financial management functions and assist in the overall management of the Group as part of the senior management team.
- Attend to any other duties assigned by the GCEO.
6. Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest financial trends, regulations, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
Education/Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required).
- Advanced degrees such as MBA or Master’s in Finance/Accounting (preferred).
- Membership in the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or other relevant qualifications.
Experience:
- 10 to 15 years of significant experience in accounting and finance, ideally within the age group of 45 to 55 years.
- Proven track record in a senior financial leadership role within a public listed company.
- Experience in financial reporting, corporate finance, treasury, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in the Property and Plantation sector is an added advantage.
Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards).
